hormones | gut health | menopause | perimenopause | women's health

And how does that make you feel?
Terrified? Helpless? Hopeless?
Do you think that affect your mental state and plays a role as you approach and travel through menopause? In other words, does anything you’ve been told about menopause align with how you really want to FEEL in your ‘Second Act’?

Our back half of this crazy journey we call life, is rife with challenges:
On top of that, we have been programmed to dread menopause and harbour very negative emotions based on fear.
We go in seeing menopause as the beginning of the end riddled with pain and suffering, diminished vitality and youthfulness. We fear the wildly diverse symptoms such as; hot flashes, joint pain, thinning hair, skin issues, brittle nails, mood swings, fatigue, low motivation, brain fog, lack of really good sleep, unprecedented weight gain, especially around the belly, low libido and much more.

It's a time of charting and tracking but each day seems so different so that it feels like a completely useless and futile exercise.
We associate aging with loss. We grieve versions of our former selves. And we feel disempowered.
And it certainly can be all of that and more.
But, it’s also a chance for us to flip the script.
As difficult as it may be right now, try to look past the symptoms. Those symptoms, like hormonal fluctuations, insomnia, hot flashes, achy joints, mood swings – they can be intense but they are also tools that your body is using to teach you what it needs from you. What you learn becomes knowledge. And knowledge is power. The more you know, the more in control you will feel.
It may not feel like it, but Menopause is a gift. I kid you not.
After decades of raising children, supporting loved ones, working hard, juggling schedules and finances and career paths, and very likely neglecting your health along the way, your Second Act is a chance to rewrite YOUR story, define YOUR passions, reach for YOUR goals. It can be a time of wisdom, resilience and growth.

Think of it as a time to look inward and to support your body as it changes in new ways.
Use this opportunity to listen, to learn and to love your body. Maybe for the first time ever.
Hormones are complex. That’s a fact.
But here’s a truth: Menopause is going to happen, like it or not.
Arming yourself with a basic hormone overview will give you a solid understanding of what’s going on and how to start regaining energy, naturally. And with simplicity. And with grace.
If you want to embrace this beautiful phase of your life, feel empowered, and want help with your menopause symptoms then you need to start at the beginning.
